Introducing Publication: The Golden Heart of Dirt and Viscera
Welcome!! I appreciate you! So this is a newsletter style project I am working on called "The Golden Heart of Dirt and Viscera"! Side note: this is what I wanted to call the practice in general, but the name is a little to exciting and graphic, so I relented and backed down.
Well, let me explain the goals and structure for this publication.
1) A consistent source of information around current research in herbalism and bodywork. I am nerd, and want to help people keep up with the plethora of clinical trials, mechanisms of actions research and basic advancements in medical science that related to herbs and bodywork. Clear concise summaries and citation, aiming to help people who work with plants and bodies!
2) Recognition and exploration into current social issues and historical context, especially as it relates to emerging technology. There is alot going on in the world, a lot of suffering has happened, we are all overwhelmed, concerned, amazed, terrified ect. This whole project is a testament to that, being basically an internet phenomenon. I want to try to understand what is actually happening and share that understanding. Topic could vary quite a bit but will cover the usual suspects of resource depletion, exploitative relationships with plants, AI, satellite technology, computerization, ect ect. Sticking to published resources, not about who is evil and whatnot.
3) An expression of relationship between plants and people! Notes about experiences with plants, mediation with them, generally opening ourselves to that kind of experience. This a counterbalance to the above two goals, and closer to my heart. These could be from me personally or anyone else who is interested. I hope to encourage myself and others to engage with daily practices in this sorta vein.
Here is more about the biweekly structure (which is apt to change). I also like photography so you will have to deal with my pictures too.
